It doesn't matter if you are a leader or you just a follower. I believe that both position has their own role to ensure everything is in the line. The right line. They can be stand alone. How can I call you a leader if you don't have any follower? Or how can you be a follower if you don't have a leader to be followed
If you are a leader, I believe this characteristic should be in you; not only as your paradigm, indeed they are can be shown from your behavior and people follow you! If you are a leader, you can inspire others, guide others. If you are a leader :
- You will help others to be a better person, have a better life
- Leading by example. Your life inspire others. You do what you say.
- You keep your mouth only for positive words; no place for intimidating, harassing people (even only for joke!). You keep confidentiality and not share it to others
- You should be honest and straightforward. Be brave!
- You can manage your self, respect to your self and others
- Being objective. Use your head, also your heart
- Take full responsibility and ownership
- Integrity
- Great listener
- You know your people
What do you think about a follower? I believe there is nothing wrong for being a follower. A follower also have a power to build things. Without them, a leader can't do things done. And a good leader is a good follower. Without it, you can become a dictator.
In this area, I would like to share about a good follower. A good follower :
- You must carefully select your role models and mentors. No one can choose these people for you
- Ready to be shaped, especially your character
- You have open heart to be mentored, humble
- Great listener.
- Open for changes. A good follower doesn't make unnecessary reason for being right
- You are loyal, persistence
- You respect what people tell you and reflect
- An open ear to listen
- Honest and integrity
And a good follower will become a good leader.
